Class B
The classic car license for vehicles with manual or automatic transmission.
B / B17 / B197: Car up to 3,500 kg, max. 8 seats.
B96: Combination with trailer up to 4,250 kg.
B196: Light motorcycles A1, Germany only.
BE: Trailer over 750 kg (up to 3,500 kg).
Class A
Motorcycle license for all motorcycles without power restriction.
A: Motorcycles over 50 cc or faster than 45 km/h.
A1: Up to 125 cc / max. 11 kW.
A2: Up to 35 kW, max. 0.2 kW/kg.
AM: Mopeds / bicycles with auxiliary motor.
Class C
For heavy trucks over 3.5 tonnes – commercial goods transport included.
C: Trucks over 3,500 kg.
C1: Trucks 3,500–7,500 kg.
CE: Truck + trailer over 750 kg.
C1E: C1 + trailer over 750 kg.
Class D
Bus license for commercial passenger transport.
D: Buses with more than 8 seats.
D1: Minibuses with 8–16 seats.
DE: D + trailer over 750 kg.
D1E: D1 + trailer over 750 kg.
